Prior to joining the AER in 2025, he led Strathcona Resources as President & CEO. His previous roles include senior executive positions at Cona Resources, Crew Energy, Harvest Operations, and more. Rob holds a Chemical Engineering degree from the University of Saskatchewan. |

John Jeffrey serves as the Chief Executive Officer and a Director of Saturn Oil & Gas Inc., which has been recognized as one of Canada’s fastest growing companies for the past several years. John’s extensive experience in financial management and operations has enabled him to successfully execute large engineering and environmental projects. Previously, he held the position of Area Finance Manager for a Fortune 500 engineering consulting firm in Canada. John was also a founder and the CFO of Axiom Group, a geological and engineering consulting company that drilled over 800 wells in western Canada. He is a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan with an MBA majoring in Finance. |

Brian MacInnis, CA, CFA Brian is a Managing Director with CIBC Capital Markets Investment Banking, where he leads coverage of Canadian oil and gas producers. He advises clients on mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt financings, and a range of other capital markets advisory mandates. His select advisory experience includes ARC Resources’ acquisition of Seven Generations; Hammerhead Resources’ go-public SPAC merger and subsequent sale to Veren; Baytex Energy’s acquisition of Ranger Oil; Peyto Exploration’s acquisition of Repsol Energy Canada; Ridgeback Resources’ sale to Saturn; and Vermilion Energy’s acquisition of Leucrotta Exploration. |

Whitecap is the 7th largest Canadian oil and gas producer and 5th largest Canadian natural gas producer. The company has the largest land position in the Alberta Montney and Duvernay, with current production of ~365,000 boe/d and a 2025 capital expenditure budget of $2B. Join us for a fire side chat with Grant Fagerheim as we discuss his experience in creating the successful business combination and some of the challenges he faced at different stages of the transaction. We will hear from Grant on his vision and strategy for the proforma entity and the milestones Whitecap has achieved during the integration process of the Veren asset base. Grant Fagerheim is President and Chief Executive Officer of Whitecap Resources Inc., a position he has held since it was founded in 2009. Aside from Whitecap Resources, Mr. Fagerheim also founded Kereco Energy Ltd. (Cadence), Ketch Resources Ltd., and Ketch Energy Ltd. He was appointed to the board of The Fraser Institute in January, 2020. He has worked in both the Canadian upstream and downstream segments of the energy industry. His past directorships include both public and private energy producing and service companies. Mr. Fagerheim is an active member in the community in both volunteer and charity roles and has a passion for combining academics with athletics. He is a past director of the Hockey Canada Foundation and has served as Chairman of the Edge School for Athletes in Calgary. In recognition for his contributions to Canada, Mr. Fagerheim was awarded the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012, the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Medal in 2022 (Alberta) and the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Medal in 2023 (Saskatchewan). He was inducted into the Saskatchewan Oil & Gas Hall of Fame in 2017 and was named Saskatchewan Oil Person of the Year in 2021. |

The portfolio includes oil sands projects in northern Alberta, thermal and conventional crude oil and natural gas projects across Western Canada, crude oil production offshore Newfoundland and Labrador and natural gas and liquids production offshore China and Indonesia. Cenovus’s downstream operations include upgrading, refining and marketing operations in Canada and the United States.
Join us for a presentation from Jeff Lawson on his role in contributing to Cenovus’s long-term strategy through strategic acquisitions and divestitures and the influence that policy and government have in developing the business plan. Jeff has extensive experience in domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, investments and corporate restructurings. Prior to joining Cenovus in 2023, Jeff spent 15 years at Peters & Co. Limited in senior finance roles including Managing Director of the Corporate Finance group and as a member of the Executive Committee. Before Peters & Co., Jeff spent 14 years as a securities lawyer at the law firm of Burnet, Duckworth & Palmer LLP (BD&P), where he was co-head of the Securities Group and a member of the Executive Committee. During his tenure at BD&P, Jeff was recognized as one of Canada’s most creative lawyers as well as a top cross- border
